Sections formatting and files array?

I was searching for an example code in documentation for how to manage sections just like in Demo site of Japan for example?

I'd like to know how to specify start and end of that section without having to list all the images.

P.S: Kurama onsen was wonderful, I'm making my own Japan trip gallery with this tool.

Hmm... what I usually do is to name the photos with a prefix corresponding to the section (or at least sort them) and then insert a section break in between (basically close the list with ] and start the new section object). But I agree it is not very easy to do... At this stage I'm actually just using the UI from simple.photo to do it as it is easier.

That being said, I'd like to have some nicer way to handle sections for the open-source version as well, but not really sure how it can be improved without breaking some existing concepts. One alternative may be implementing this #104 - you will then be able to run a command multiple times for each section. Still, need to figure out how to define which photos to add... Maybe prefix or index (list photos from 150 to 250 or something).

Like you said index list would be best. I don't have gallery.json on me to check right now, but photos could have a generated number based on their order from init command

Then in sections we could just define start and end of a section? Or only a start?

What would be nice but is a bit more work is if making a special symbol like _folder would treat it as a section instead of subgallery.

Given that it has to be only 1 level deep.
And folder would remain a subgallery under which there could be another section.

But a section _folder can't contain a section _folder. However a subgallery can.

@haltakov I've tried the current approach and given it some more thought. Main problem right now is that gallery.json gets regenerated whenever you add new pictures and init the gallery.

What if the images[] array with pictures inside was generated with init and fetched as separate .json file? It could be regenerated unrelated to gallery.json

For the sections, I thought it nice, if they could they could be generated by specifying start and break of a section by single name of file.
