Document the launcher, its releases, and llvm-ar as optional on macOS For DQ8-Recompiled #33, which brings the launcher to main: where it is, how to build and start it from a checkout, where a game it started keeps its log and memory cards, and what CI and the Release workflow do with it: each push to main publishes a release named by the commit's short hash. Without llvm-ar, configure now archives the generated corpus in parts for Apple's ar. Push once #33 has merged.
Say what a game build costs since the function map fix DQ8-Recompiled #31 shrank the function map rows that made most of the build. Measured with a full build of main at 10 jobs on an M1 Pro: 436 s of compiling, 14,249 steps, clang's peak 0.5 GB (SPIRV-Cross), the largest translated file 773 KB.
Document the in-game menu, internal resolution and Sharper picture For DQ8-Recompiled #25 (the F1 menu) and #26 (the renderer port: upscaled targets kept on the GPU, write-combined upload buffers, the 4 MiB GS queue, the line-blend switch, and the two counted shortcuts). Push once both have merged.
Say what the first build costs, and keep Homebrew's LLVM off PATH Measured over a full build: fifteen translated functions of 2.5 to 11 MB take most of the compile, up to an hour each, so the first build takes about an hour on any core count; clang peaks at about 1.5 GB on the largest. LLVM 23's libc++ cannot build the tree yet, and configure takes the first clang++ in PATH.

Document the VU1 program list rebuilt from the ELF
Document sound and the 30 FPS field Covers the native IOP sound drivers, whole-program VU compilation and its recording workflow, the renderer's in-stream snapshots and GPU-built 8-bit textures, and the tests and checks that go with them. To publish once the sound and performance pull requests are merged.
