Did setup fight you? Tell me where — I'm fixing these this month.

If pip install attune-ai didn't get you to a working first command smoothly, I want to know exactly where — no need to be diplomatic about it.

Where things stand right now: one setup-friction report came in on 2026-07-09. I reproduced the install myself in a clean sandbox afterward and found five specific issues — a confusing first-run traceback, a spend-cost warning that fires before checking whether you even have an API key, auth status claiming "setup complete" on a machine that was never configured, and a couple others. Fixes for all five are in PR #1318 and shipping in the next release (v10.4.0) — not live on PyPI yet as I write this.

So there are really two useful things to tell me:

1. If you hit setup friction before this post — did it match what I described above, or was it something else entirely?
2. If you try it fresh once v10.4.0 is out — did the fix actually land for you, or is there a new/different wall?

Either way: what were you trying to do, where exactly did it stop you (paste the actual error text if you have it), and how far did you get — pushed through, gave up, found a workaround?

This isn't a support ticket — a two-sentence reply is exactly the right amount of effort. I'm actively working through setup friction this month and every reply here shapes what gets fixed next.
