Design Better

People now want things to look good by default because no one wants to design things up from scratch.

It's great that everything can be changed, but not everyone has a good design eye. If a good design is prepared by default many people will start using this extension.

In short, what I mean is that it is necessary to make a design that suits everyone's taste. When I first installed the extension, I said what do I do now. The design is so old that it seems like it could never be customized.

good design is about making tool useful, not look good in ads, so if what you mean is tripling the padding size and making fonts bolder and semitransparent like most modern software is then I'm against that, but if you have other ideas I'll listen to them

For example, you can make an innovative design like this. I haven't touched the tops. I just fixed the area where the articles appear. cause it was really look bad. Do you understand exactly what I'm saying now?

For example, the date part can be made sticky like this.

it's extremely space inefficient to make article list like this, see how little data you can fit on the screen with this ladding and margins, and simply looks unnatural, current state is close to native (especially in Firefox derivatives where it uses browser-natuve color scheme)

though the sticky dates are a nice idea and I'll look into that

Innovative designs cause loss of space. that's the rule! If you want to provide a more general use, you should offer more than one theme option so that everyone is not condemned to the same design. because not everyone has coding knowledge. I know there are people who can't even do such a simple thing..

If you want to get rid of the old look a little bit, you can change the icon library. For example, remix icon is completely open source.

okay so, I'd have to build maintainable (so if I add a new feature or slightly alter something visually I don't have to do that in all themes) theming system first, that's a serious blocker, would probably require another pass of stylesheet cleanup before I begin and while I agree that some people may prefer showy and flashy interfaces I'd say it's getting out of scope for this extension and adding a lot of unnecessary complexity, especially taking in count #167

If you update the extension, will the custom css part be reset? I will save my changes accordingly.
