Feature Request: Option to Place External Images in Annotation Tool (Actual Size or Resized)
Summary:
Add functionality in the annotation tool to insert and position external images, with control over their size and placement on the screen.
Details:
Currently, the annotation tool allows internal drawings and text, but there is no option to import or overlay external images. The requested enhancement would allow users to:
Insert external images (e.g., PNG, JPG, SVG or vector icon) into the annotation workspace.
Choose size options:
Place image at actual/original size, or
Resize manually using handles or preset percentage options (e.g., 50%, 75%).
Position control:
Allow images to be placed on top of the screen (e.g., header area) or anywhere within the workspace.
Retain proportions and aspect ratio when resizing.
Optional: Add drag-and-drop functionality for convenience.
Use Case:
Annotators often need to overlay reference images or templates during reviews or visual checks.
Being able to control the size and position improves accuracy and usability.
Expected Outcome:
Improved flexibility in visual annotations and better alignment with user needs when adding context from external visuals.
