In simple terms, how do I update SpotX?

I'm no computer expert, so please be gentle :)
I've been using SpotX for a few years but have never updated SpotX and I'm thinking I should.
SpotX is working perfectly so I don't want to mess anything up.
I can't remember how I installed it exactly, what I downloaded and used.
I have a folder for SpotX, inside this folder I have:

Install_New_theme.bat
spotify_installer-1.2.68.525.g48fbf8fd-916.exe
Uninstall.bat

I'm thinking about updating due to security concerns.

Should I update or leave it as it is, as SpotX is working without any problems?

If I should update can I have as much detail as possible so I understand.

If everything is working fine for you, there's really no point in updating, the music will still sound exactly the same

I was just wondering about using a newer version of spotify due to security?
