Turns out the issue was with the focus management trying to do to much. If the container or the application is focused it doesn't really matter which one, the game should remain unpaused. So I cleared out some extra manual focus/blur state setting and removed a function call to focus the app when the container is focused.

Opening as draft pending some proper testing
