Apple Tree
Apple Tree is a new type of tree which can be considered a variant of Oak Trees. It uses Oak Logs as its wood and Apple Leaves as its leaves. It's grown with Apple Saplings.
Apple Trees serve to give the player a more reliable source of Apples, which are used to craft Caramel Apples and Candy Apples.
Apple Trees do not generate in the world naturally. They can be obtained by planting an Apple Core. Once one tree is grown, more can be grown from Apple Saplings, which drop from its leaves.
It grows in the exact same shape as non-fancy Oak Trees, but its minimum height has been increased by 1 compared to Oak Trees; therefore, a player always has enough room to walk underneath any Apple Tree.

Apple Core is an item crafted from Apples. Its only purpose is to place Apple Saplings. Right-click with the Apple Core to place it just as you do with any sapling item.
- Shapeless (1x Apple Core)
- 1x Apple
It's identical to vanilla saplings, but grows Apple Trees.
Like vanilla saplings, it can be placed in Flower Pots.
It can be obtained by placing down an Apple Core, or from Apple Leaves (either breaking without shears or decaying).
Apple Leaves is a block very similar to Oak Leaves, but with expanded functionality.
Apple Leaves blocks initially appear as a yellow variant of Oak Leaves, but eventually grow visible apples. When apples are present, the block may be right-clicked to harvest the apples (1-3 apples each harvest).
The block may be right-clicked with Bone Meal at any time to use up the Bone Meal and grow apples.
Like vanilla leaf blocks, it must be sheared to obtain. When broken without shears or decayed, its drops are identical to Oak Leaves, except that it drops Apple Saplings instead of Oak Saplings. Also like vanilla leaves, the block is very flammable, and decays naturally based on the presence of Oak Logs.
Technical details: Apple Leaves blocks are given an Age property of 0 when placed. When they are randomly ticked, their Age increases by 1, until they reach the Age value of 3; apples are present at Age 3. Bone Meal sets Age to 3, and harvesting sets Age back to 0.
