Signature with certificate

I'm having problems signing with a certificate, I used foxit pdf, where I have the option of customizing the type of visual signature with my company's own logo, dragging the signature wherever I want, scaling it to the size I need, among other options, but stirling doesn't do any of that, the signature is fixed in the bottom left corner. If there is the possibility of customizing the signature with a certificate, how can I do it?

Hi @gesuinox! I'm Dosu and I'm helping the Stirling-tools team.

You're right — the certificate signature is currently hardcoded at the bottom-left corner of the page (PDRectangle(0, 0, 200, 50)) with a fixed size of 200×50 points [1]. There's no way to customize the position, size, or visual appearance (like adding a company logo) at this time. The only option available is selecting the page number.

The good news is that someone has already built a solution for this and is proposing it in issue #7261 [1]. The proposal includes:

• Drag-and-drop placement — a viewer overlay letting you drag a signature box directly onto the document
• Custom coordinates and sizing — optional x, y, width, height parameters
• Certificate field selection — choose which fields to display, with blank fields skipped automatically
• Optional every-page marks for long documents

The feature is reportedly working with 40 backend tests and is waiting for maintainer review before a PR is opened [1]. You may want to add a 👍 on that issue to show interest and help prioritize it.

@gesuinox All three things you asked for are now in #7262.

• Drag it where you want - draw the signature box straight onto the document, by dragging or by clicking two opposite corners. The page you draw on becomes the page that gets signed.
• Scale it - the box is whatever size you draw, and the text shrinks to fit it rather than spilling out.
• Your own logo - upload a PNG or JPEG and choose where it sits inside the box: left of the text, right of it, above, below, or behind it as a watermark. The image keeps its aspect ratio, and the text always keeps a usable share of the box, so a wide banner logo cannot squeeze the signer name out.

You can also pick which certificate fields are printed (signer, issuer, serial, validity, signing time, reason, location), and fields your certificate does not carry are skipped rather than drawn blank.

Nothing changes if you use none of it: with no box and no logo parameters the signature comes out exactly as it does today.

If there is anything else in the Foxit workflow you rely on, say so here and I will look at it.
