Manual rename of a PDF file

Is there a way to rename a PDF file manually?

StirlingPDF has split a large PDF file for me. I'd like to change the names of the PDFs it created.

The Auto Rename feature seems like overkill for just a simple rename of a PDF. Is there a simpler way to do this?

Yes there is a plain manual rename now

Hover a file card in the files sidebar or on the Files page
Click the kebab (More actions) and pick Rename

It merged to main on 2026-08-20 in #7536 so you need a dev build or the next release

Only the base name is editable
The extension stays fixed

The Watched Folders view hides the Rename entry (FileSidebar.tsx:900 gates it on the active workbench) so rename from the Files page instead
