macOS 26.6.2: PDF/Image Merge Fails, Thumbnails Stuck Loading, and File Actions Unresponsive

Description

I'm experiencing multiple issues while working with local PDF/image files on macOS.

Issues observed

1. PDF/Image merge fails

I added multiple local PDF and image files and attempted to merge them.

The merge operation failed with an error.

All files were stored locally on my Mac. I have attached the relevant screenshots/files showing the behavior.

2. Thumbnails remain stuck loading

After the merge operation failed, I closed and reopened the application.

After reopening, the file thumbnails remained stuck in a loading state and did not finish loading.

3. File actions are unresponsive

The following actions do not appear to do anything:

• Add File
• View

Clicking these buttons does not open a file picker, preview, dialog, or display an error.

Expected behavior

• Local PDF and image files should be added successfully.
• Thumbnails should load normally.
• PDF/image merging should complete successfully.
• Add File should open the file picker.
• View should display/preview the selected file.
• If an operation fails, an informative error should be displayed.

Actual behavior

• Merge operation fails.
• Thumbnails become stuck loading after reopening.
• Add File appears unresponsive.
• View appears unresponsive.

Environment

• macOS: 26.6.2
• macOS Build: 25G83
• Architecture: Apple Silicon (arm64)
• Mac: MacBook Pro
• Stirling-PDF: [version to be confirmed]

Additional information

The application was not previously installed on this Mac when I initially checked the system.
