StockDatabase is founded by two SWE students, Philippe Christian Bourrachot and William Westergaard Jacobsen, in Aalborg, Denmark, while studying at Aalborg University (AAU).
StockDatabase is a data infrastructure company focused on providing structured, reliable, and cost-efficient financial data for investors, analysts, researchers, traders, and quantitative professionals. The company was established in response to the high cost and limited accessibility of existing stock information APIs, particularly those offering historical financial reports. Recognizing a clear inefficiency in the market, the founders set out to build a solution that reduces cost while maintaining institutional-grade data quality.
The core mission of StockDatabase is to lower the cost of accessing financial data by delivering reliable, normalized datasets that expose both historical and current company fundamentals. The platform is designed to support use cases such as financial analysis, portfolio management, quantitative modeling, and market research.
StockDatabase emphasizes data integrity, transparency, and scalability. Data is standardized and structured for immediate use, minimizing friction in analysis workflows and enabling efficient decision-making. The company prioritizes cost-efficiency, while keeping the data's quality at a high standard, to ensure that independent investors, funds, and smaller institutions can access high-quality financial data without the pricing constraints of traditional providers.
By reducing both financial and structural barriers to high-quality market data, StockDatabase positions itself as a foundational layer in the modern financial data ecosystem.
