Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that I had the VibesRD APK installed on my phone a few weeks ago when it came out. I don't really remember the version because it's a very good one; the FT8 decoder worked. But I tried to install the latest version, and it won't run on my device. It asks for permission and then gets stuck on the "Continue" screen. I tried some earlier versions, like 5.0.1, and they run, but they don't have the FT8 decoder, which is essential for me. I'd appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Thank you.

have you tried doing a full uninstall first, depending on how long ago you installed it the app has changed a huge amount which may be causing some issues. V9.0.1 is stable and working on my own devices at the moment so it may be some local config data that is causing some issues from an older version if you've done a big jump.

I had a previous version and it worked perfectly, so I completely uninstalled it to install the new 9.0.1, but it's not working. My phone is a Blade L8 running Android 9.0. I know it's on the home screen where it says "continue." The biggest shame is that you have an excellent project, and I know it worked well for me at first, especially the FT8 decode. I really don't know what to do, so I'm reaching out to you as the APK developer. Best regards, 73

There it stays, the APK doesn't advance, it's static.

Ahhh Android 9 is pretty old, I bet something has been added since the earlier versions that requires a much newer version of Android. I will have Claude check it for me but I suspect that is the case I’m afraid. Give me a little time and I’ll have an answer for you.

Good news it's now been fixed, it was a layout bug on low resolution screens that caused it. I had tested on a 720p screen but no lower. It has now been tested and a screen emulating your one and it works now. Install 9.0.2 apk for the fix.

No worries, glad its working for you now. I had tested it on an iPhone SE in display scaling mode which simulates a 4" screen but iOS handles scaling differently to Android and I don't have any smaller Android phones to test myself.

I'm taking this opportunity to mention that I was looking at the APK. You know, I used to have the FT8 decoders, but now they're gone. They're a great help, and I'm not allowed to reinstall them since they're a very common mode of digital television. I look forward to your replies. 73

What service are you connecting too? They should be there in portrait mode, a button saying Digital Spots should be there?

Yes, I saw what you mentioned, it's fine, but that's not really an SDR transmission signal decoder. It's more of a spot signal coming from the PSK Report, which is essentially a guide to see the range of certain stations, who's copying them, etc. But the decoder is something else entirely; it's essential for DXing because it allows us to confirm the data it's showing in a log. Ahhh there is 2 different ones. The UberSDR and OpenWebRX versions are served from the server, the KiwiSDR one is local on the device and will actually work if you plug an RTL-SDR directly in too.

KiwiSDR and RTL-SDR are on device decoding (uses the same box for continuity) but does it live, tune to the signal and decode as you would your own hardware.

UberSDR and OpenWebRX do the decoding on the server and send the results to you, UberSDR does all bands simultaneously too.

See for me for FT8 I am more interested in distance and amount of contacts I can see, but I don't understand it enough to know what is truly important to a user. I geared it up for what I am interested in which is distance and signal strength and band, so I will look at it and see what I need to change if I need to change anything.

Hello my friend, how are you? I'm very glad you're working hard to improve the application, especially regarding the decoders. Without interfering or commenting on your development, which I truly congratulate you on, you put your best effort into it every day so that more users can get the most out of the application. I just wanted to give you an idea to give you a better understanding of the decoders. At least FT8 takes the principles of JTDX and WSJTX, which are the most widely used decoders by amateur radio operators and SWLs worldwide. And for Morse, you could evaluate and look at Morse Expert, which was developed by the same developer, Skimmer CW. That way, you can see for yourself what's best for improving the decoders. I really love your initiative and thank you for it. I hope I've helped with your work. Keep going; I know you're preparing something big. Let's wait for the release and see how versatile it will be for all users. Congratulations, keep it up! Best regards.

CW decoding was left out as when I tried to add it it required so much processing power it made everything hang and run like garbage. I may have a look into it again now the app has matured a bit more but I opted against it as the accuracy wasn’t there either.
