Getting started with ProjectEngine — ask your setup questions here

This discussion is dedicated to first-use and setup questions.

ProjectEngine does not require an installer. Download the latest .xlsm release, open it in Microsoft Excel and enable macros.

The main planning inputs are entered in the WBS sheet.

At minimum, a task needs:

• a unique ID;
• a WBS code;
• a task name;
• enough scheduling information to place it on the timeline.

That scheduling information can come from:

• a Baseline Start and Baseline Duration;
• predecessors and a duration;
• or a combination of baseline dates and dependencies.

Most other columns are optional, contextual or calculated by the engine.

• Which columns are required?

When asking for help, please include:

1. the ProjectEngine version;
2. the Excel version and language;
3. the expected result;
4. the actual result;
5. a screenshot or small anonymized example when possible.

Confirmed bugs should be moved to GitHub Issues once reproduced.
