Format DAX doesn't work with user-defined functions

Description

I thought it is not yet implemented for the user-defined functions because it's never worked for me in older versions of TE3 and still doesn't work in 3.25.1. F6 in a function doesn't change anything in the function code.

@avatorl Can you provide a sample UDF definition that fails to format?

Additionally, could you try formatting this UDF?

Note it has introduced whitespace.

Would you also please share your settings for auto-formatting:

@avatorl please prioritize checking whether you are using daxformatter.com or the built-in formatter (the last screenshot in my prior reply). I can reproduce this behavior if I use daxformatter.com. The built-in formatter works for me.

Please test both and let us know whether you see the issue across both.

@greggyb thank you. I was sure I switched to the built-in one long time ago, but I've just checked and I see that it was using daxformatter.com. I've switched now to the built-in one and it works well.

By the way, something is wrong with the status bar messages. When TE uses daxformatter.com, it shows "Unable to format DAX" message in the status bar on the bottom on F6 in a function. But the message remains there for a while, even when I successfully format a measure afterwards, the already irrelevant error message remains in the status bar. And it doesn't show "Unable to format DAX" when there is "Model saved" message in the status bar. It looks like a status bar message remains there for a while and prevents any status bar updates.

I have reported the bug around UDFs through the DAXFormatter website using and DAXLib.FormatString UDF as an example.
I will spin the latest comment into a new issue and close this one.
