CVE-2024-52911 - Script Interpreter Remote Crash
- Disclosure: https://bitcoincore.org/en/2026/05/05/disclose-cve-2024-52911/
- Description: Attacker could craft an invalid block with sufficient PoW, which would cause access to an already-freed memory and would crash the node. Undiscovered since introduction in 2018, covertly fixed in 12/2004, now disclosed.
- Note: interesting to observe how the covert and later proper fix were done
