🎯 What:

  • Added standard ignore patterns to .gitignore for .idea/, *.iml, *.swp, coverage/, and *.log files.
  • Cleared git cache and re-applied .gitignore tracking to drop any inadvertently tracked files.
  • Optimized git database locally via git gc --prune=now --aggressive.

💡 Why:
To clean up the repository history and prevent local environment/IDE specific files or generated code from being mistakenly committed going forward.

Verification:

  • Validated new entries exist in .gitignore using read_file.
  • Ran git status properly without untracking core project files.
  • Verified codebase compiles successfully via npm run typecheck and npx jest --passWithNoTests.

Result:
A cleaner repository state with enforced generic rule sets for standard React Native/Expo developer setups.

🎯 **What:**
- Ran `npm install` locally to update and sync `package-lock.json` with recent dependency additions in `package.json`.

💡 **Why:**
- The CI pipeline validation job was failing with an `npm ci` EUSAGE error because the lockfile had desynced with `package.json` (specifically around `expo-secure-store` and `react-native-webview` packages).

✅ **Verification:**
- Ran `npm run typecheck` successfully locally.
- Verified test suite passes via `npx jest --passWithNoTests`.
- Confirm local environment operates seamlessly.

✨ **Result:**
- GitHub Actions pipeline should now successfully complete the validation step without lockfile errors.
