"I'm a teapot." — HTTP 418

Teapots418 is an open-source incubator for developers who have the ambition to build the next big thing, but are stuck in the "solo developer" vacuum.

We are a collective of coders, designers, and dreamers who realized that while we all know how to code, building a project alone is hard. We are here to connect you with your co-founders, your first contributors, and your friends—all through the power of GitHub Issues and Telegram.

Every developer has been there: You have a brilliant idea for an open-source tool. You clone the repo, write the first 50 lines of code, and then... silence.

You need a frontend dev, but you only know backend. You need a designer, but you can only draw stick figures. You get discouraged, and the project dies.

Teapots418 exists to stop that silence.

We are the matchmaking service for open source. We provide the space for you to pitch your idea, find a team, and actually ship.

We brew open source entirely on GitHub. No Discord servers to join, no complex forms—just Issues and Code.

To join the community, simply open a new issue in this repository labeled New Member.

Once you've opened your issue, maintainers and other members will comment to welcome you.

• For Real-time Chat: Join our Telegram Group.
• For Project Planning: We utilize GitHub Issues and Projects boards exclusively.

• Pitching: If you have an idea, open an issue labeled Project Proposal. We will feature it in the "Current Brews" section below.
• Joining: Browse the Project Proposal issues. If you see a project you like, comment on the issue to offer your skills.

You don't need to be a 10x developer to join. You just need to be willing to learn.

Do you have a half-finished project gathering digital dust?

1. Open a Project Proposal issue using our PROPOSAL_TEMPLATE.
2. Wait for contributors to comment on your issue.
3. Collaborate via Telegram voice chats or GitHub Discussions.

Looking to practice a new language or build your portfolio?

1. Browse the Project Proposals tab.
2. Find a project that excites you.
3. Comment on the issue: "I'd like to help with this!"
