How to connect from home to TDK machines?
As we understand, students cannot SSH to TDK machines via T2 anymore. Therefore, in order to access your machines from home, you need to get a VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure). By that, you will be able to access from home a virtual Windows machine, and from that machine to log in to the Linux machine using SSH. Follow the guidelines explained in the system site.
How to SSH to a Linux machine from Windows?
There are plenty of SSH clients available for Windows. We strongly recommend MobaXterm. This is a very convenient client, that also allows to open Linux graphical apps in your Windows environment.
How to create a Linux virtual machine (VM)?
A new infrastructure that we use called VRA, allows to create a VM independently via a dedicated Web interface. To create a VRA VM you need to:
Send a mail to Oren, asking for a permission to create VMs.
When approved, follow the instructions explained in the System's site. Note that steps 1-2 are not relevant.
