In the ore processing chapter the quest for gem slurries claims that ruby slurry gives 3x aluminium and chromium compared to normal processing, and that sapphire slurry gives 2x the aluminium.
I did a quick test comparing the amount of chromium/aluminium you get from slurries and normal processing. By normal processing I mean: crushed ore -> wash -> sift -> macerate gems -> electrolyze dust.
I inputted 640 crushed ore in each processing line and got these results:
Normal ore processing:
- Ruby
- 364 chromium dust
- 304 aluminium dust
- Sapphire
- 559 aluminium dust
Gem slurry line:
- Ruby
- 320 chromium dust
- 640 aluminium dust
- Sapphire
- 640 aluminium dust
What we can see is that ruby slurry actually gives less chromium than normal ore processing, and that it does give more aluminium but not as much as stated in the quest.
Your solution
Increase the amount of chromium and aluminium given by the gem slurry line to make it worth building.
Additional information
At this point in EV you don't really need more aluminium and there are imo better sources than sapphire, so I don't think that is as important. However you will need a fair bit of chromium for all the different alloys you can make in the ABS, so it would be nice to get more chromium out of your ruby ore. This would also incentivize the player to build at least the ruby slurry line, since it is quite useless right now.
Also, idk if this is a GTCEu problem.
