| 10 | Chemical Bonding from Electronic Structure | What replaces "a shared pair of electrons", and why is O₂ paramagnetic? |
| 11 | Molecular Symmetry and Electronic Structure | Why does methane show two ionization bands, and why is CO₂'s symmetric stretch IR-silent? |

| 17 | Frontier Molecular Orbitals and Reactivity | Before any bond forms, what predicts how fast and where two molecules react? |
| 18 | Orbital Symmetry and Pericyclic Reactions | Why do thermal and photochemical routes give opposite stereochemistry? |
| 19 | Organic Reaction Mechanisms from Electronic Structure | How many genuinely different physical ideas lie under the list of named mechanisms? |
| 20 | Catalysis, Intermolecular Forces and Case Studies | How do catalysts and weak forces reshape the energy landscape? |
| # | Chapter | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 21 | Chemistry Without Memorization | Derives familiar "rules" in full, from carbon's bonding to |
| 22 | The Unified Picture | Traces the chain from quantum mechanics to chemical behaviour, with a status ledger for the whole book |
| 23 | From the Unified Framework to the Chemical Sciences | Inorganic, electrochemistry, materials, phase behaviour, nuclear chemistry |
These are in the Specialization/ folder. Each chapter explains why its field exists as a separate discipline, how the field's working equations grow out of the core, and what the field studies. The four extended chapters cover fields the core touches only briefly.
