Quantum Chemistry: From Fundamental Physics to Chemical Reactivity is an open textbook that builds chemistry up from physics. It explains where each of chemistry's rules and mnemonics comes from instead of asking you to memorize them.
There are no arbitrary exceptions. There are only approximations with domains of validity.
| Core chapters | 23, in three parts (quantum structure → chemical behaviour → case studies) |
| Specializations | 14 chapters (S1–S14), one per branch of chemistry: organic to nuclear, including extended chapters on electrochemistry, solid-state chemistry, crystallography and nanochemistry |
| Appendices | 5 reference appendices: mathematics, quantum mechanics, group theory, constants, computation |
| Figures | 249, each computed from the physics in the text by a reproducible Python script |
| Formats | Markdown with LaTeX math (reads on GitHub and in Obsidian) and a typeset PDF |
| Tooling | One-command PDF build, and an MCP server for reading and searching the book with an AI client |
| License | MIT |
