Very interesting. I had never heard of this before. In fact, the DiscHash we currently use on the site is a very similar idea. It uses only file metadata (like matrix256) and is stable (and cheap) across multiple different releases of the same disc. Unfortunately, I do not see any widespread adoption of matrix256 outside of the Automatic Ripping Machine so I am not sure if there is much value is supporting it and adding yet another disc hash to our database. Are there specific scenarios that having matrix256 in our database would open up? |
