SignalBox 0.2.6
The first public build of SignalBox. It keeps your Twitch category matching
the game you're actually playing — and asks first when it isn't sure.
Preview build. SignalBox is in daily use and works, but it hasn't been
through a wide public test yet. Expect rough edges, and please
open an issue if you hit one.
Install
- Download
SignalBox-Setup-0.2.6.exebelow. - Close OBS, then run it.
- Open OBS → View → Docks → SignalBox Category Monitor.
- Connect Twitch in the dock — you get a short code to enter on Twitch's own
site. SignalBox never sees your password.
Requires OBS Studio 30+, 64-bit Windows.
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen will warn you: More info
→ Run anyway, or build it from source.
What it does
- Detects your game from each store's own metadata — Steam, Epic, GOG, Ubisoft
Connect, and a Windows registry fallback. No filename guessing. - Sets your Twitch category when it's confident, and asks when it isn't.
Prompts are panels in the dock — never a pop-up, never a modal, and nothing
that can tab you out of a fullscreen game. Ignoring one always just holds
your current category. - Fix This! corrects a wrong detection permanently — pick the right
category for that app, or tell it never to switch for that app. - Stream Ending/Stop Detection holds your category while you wrap up, and
clears itself when the stream stops or a new game starts. - Just Chatting sets your fallback category in one click.
- Drops a Twitch stream marker on every category change, so your VOD is
chaptered.
New in 0.2.6
- Check for updates now reports what it found in the activity log, instead
of silently doing nothing. When there's a newer version the button becomes
Get v0.x.y and opens that release. - The version in the dock footer links to the release notes.
