Can't view unused hard disk (rotative and nvme)

I have two drives, a standard spinning-disk drive and an NVMe drive, which are not currently part of any pool.
I would still like to monitor their status (for example, via S.M.A.R.T. scans, temperature and so on), but they do not appear and are not taken into account by the tool.

Thanks for reporting, @LainX84! If I remember right, drives are evaluated from the pools endpoint - so they won't show up when not a pool member. I'll look into this, but it might take a bit.

I've started working on this. However, as I do not have any unassigned disks in my own NAS, I have to base my work on a lot of assumptions, which is not a good starting point at all. Therefore, I would need your help - just call the following URL's in your browser, it shouldn't take longer than 5...10 minutes:

On the Wiki you can find how to obtain your token. Copy / paste the URL into your browser bar, then replace IP, port and token with your individual ones.

For each of the above end points, copy/paste the results into a text file. Make sure to remove serial numbers and email addresses from the file, if any (the rest is usually non-sensitive information; to me, the structure of the JSON matters most, so I can identify where the non-assigned disks are returned, and what information on it is available). Once done, revert with that text file attached to your post.

Currently, the drive in slot 3—which was not part of the pool—was added after the entire precheck (since it was in use) and RAID reshape.
At the moment, only the M.2 drive is not part of any pool (not even the cache) and is in an “unused” state.

This edge case gave me a little headache, as auto-adoption of non-pool drives is somewhat tricky. Why? Scenario (yes, that`s an extreme case):

• You own an 8-bay, currently equipped with 4 drives in RAIDx.
• You shut down the NAS, add the remaining 4 drives to extend your current RAID to 8 drives, power on again.
• HA now auto-detects 4 'non-pool' drives, creates a bunch (!!!) of entities, fine.
• 5 minutes later you adopt the drives in your current RAID, they disappear as 'non-pool drives'. All auto-created 'non-pool' entities become unavailable.
• Now we have a load of invalid entities of former 'non-pool' drives , plus a bunch of new pool-aware entities that are auto-created for the adopted drives ---> chaos.
• Unfortunately, there is no easy way of auto-migrating the non-pool-drive entities to pool-drive-entities (the ID's are different).
• So auto-adopting solo drives could potentially affect every single NAS out there.

Instead, I have implemented it a bit differently:

• On startup, the integration will also detect the non-pool drives, as usual. No action, as usual.
• There is a new button in 'Devices and Services > Ugreen > Your NAS' (click gear icon):
  
  You can of course place the button on your dashboard, like any of the other buttons.
• Clicking Press will create a stand-alone / non-pool drive in HA, with all features of a 'regular pool drive'. The adoption is permanent; you only need to do it once.
• If you decide one day to adopt that drive in a RAID, the device will appear twice. The 'solo' device has a new button 'Forget', which makes the device and all related entities disappear.

Is that a suitable solution for you?
