How should i handle bank transfers (payback)?

Hi,

let's say i pay 1000 € for car repair, i put this as expense paid by me for me and my wife in category "car". My wife later transfers 500 € to my bank account, how should i track this in the balance? As Income "received by wife" "received for me"?

How am i supposed to handle this?

Hi, thanks for the great question. To enter the 500€, you can either do paid by you for your wife or the other way around (income received by you for your wife) both mean the same thing. Don't forget to check exclude from statistics. This will still track the balance between you and your wife but the 500 won't show up as an expense/income in the balances overview (such as the pie charts)
