The supplied method script specifies a pid file location in a directory that does not exist, /var/run/mariadb. The method script cannot create the directory because it is already running as mariadb. For mysql, it looks like the approach taken was to place the pid file in /var/mysql, where the daemon does have write access.

################################################################################
Changed in xts 0.12.2:

o `Ops.xts()` no longer changes column names (via `make.names()`) when the two
  objects do not have identical indexes. This makes it consistent with
  `Ops.zoo()`. (#114)

o Subsetting a zero-length xts object now returns an object with the same
  storage type as the input. It previously always returned a 'logical' xts
  object. (#376)

o `tclass()` and `tzone()` now return the correct values for zero-length xts
  objects, instead of the defaults in the `.xts()` constructor. Thanks to Andre
  Mikulec for the report and suggested patch! (#255)

o `endpoints()` now always returns last observation. Thanks to GitHub user
  Eluvias for the report. (#300)

o Ensure `endpoints()` errors for every 'on' value when `k < 1`. It was not
  throwing an error for `k < 1` for `on` of "years", "quarters", or "months".
  Thanks to Eluvias for the report. (#301)

o Fix `window()` for yearmon and yearqtr indexes. In xts < 0.11-0, `window.zoo()`
  was dispatched when `window()` was called on a xts object because there was no
  `window.xts()` method. `window.zoo()` supports additional types of values for the
  `start` argument, and possibly other features. So this fixes a breaking change
  in xts >= 0.11-0. Thanks to GitHub user annaymj for the report. (#312)

o Clarify whether `axTicksByTime()` returns index timestamps or locations (e.g.
  1, 2, 3). Thanks to @ggrothendieck for the suggestion and feedback. (#354)

o Fix merge on complex types when 'fill' is needed. `merge()` would throw an
  error because it treated 'fill' as double instead of complex. Thanks to
  @ggrothendieck for the report. (#346)

o Add a message to tell the user how to disable 'xts_check_TZ' warning. Thanks
  to Jerzy Pawlowski for the nudge. (#113)

o Update `rbind()` to handle xts objects without dim attribute. `rbind()` threw
  an obscure error if one of the xts objects does not have a dim attribute. We
  can handle this case even though all xts objects should always have a dim
  attribute. (#361)

o `split.xts()` now always return a named list, which makes it consistent with
  `split.zoo()`. Thanks to Gabor Grothendieck for the report. (#357)

o xts objects with a zero-length POSIXct index now return a zero-length POSIXct
  vector instead of a zero-length integer vector. Thanks to Jasper Schelfhout
  for the report and PR! (#363, #364)

o Add suffixes to output of `merge.xts()`. The suffixes are consistent with
  `merge.default()` and not `merge.zoo()`, because `merge.zoo()` automatically
  uses "." as a separator between column names, but the default method doesn't.
  Thanks to Pierre Lamarche for the nudge. Better late than never? (#38, #371)

Changes to plotting functionality
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

o You can now omit the data time range from the upper-right portion of a plot
  by setting `main.timespan = FALSE`. (#247)

o Fix `addEventLines()` when plotted objects have a 'yearmon' index. The ISO-8601
  range string was not created correctly. Thanks to @paessens for the report.
  (#353)

o Make 'ylim' robust against numerical precision issues by replacing `==` with
  `all.equal()`. Thanks to @bollard for the report, PR, and a ton of help
  debugging intermediate solutions! (#368)

o Series added to a panel now extend the panel's y-axis. Previously the y-axis
  limits were based on the first series' values and not updated when new series
  were added. So values of the new series did not appear on the plot if they
  were outside of the original series' min/max. Thanks to Vitalie Spinu for the
  report and help debugging and testing! (#360)

o All series added to any panel of a plot now update the x-axis of all panels.
  So the entire plot's x-axis will include every series' time index values
  within the original plot's time range. This behavior is consistent with
  `chart_Series()`. Thanks to Vitalie Spinu for the report and help debugging
  and testing! (#360, #216)

o All y-values are now plotted for series that have duplicate index values, but
  different data values. Thanks to Vitalie Spinu for the report and help
  debugging and testing! (#360)

o Adding a series can now extend the x-axis before/after the plot's existing
  time index range, so all of the new series' time index values are included in
  the plot. This is FALSE by default to maintain backward compatibility. Thanks
  to Vitalie Spinu for the report and help debugging and testing! (#360)

tinytex 0.43
  * Added the LaTeX package pdfcol to the TinyTeX bundle (#387).
  * Removed the internal use of xfun::isFALSE() (yihui/xfun#67).

tinytex 0.42
  * Querying CTAN might time out, which can cause failure in installing TinyTeX
    (thanks, Lillian Welsh, https://stackoverflow.com/q/73404800/559676).

  * When installing TinyTeX on macOS and the directory /usr/local/bin does not
    exist, users will be prompted to create it. Then if it is not writable,
    users will be prompted to make it writable via chown (a13ae48).

tinytex 0.41
  * TinyTeX no longer defines the TEXMFHOME variable (thanks, @vsheg, #377).

  * The internal function fc_cache() also runs on the TinyTeX root directory
    now (3d146ac).

tinytex 0.40
  * Added a bundle argument to tinytex::install_tinytex(), so that users can
    choose to install any TinyTeX bundle, e.g., TinyTeX-0 or TinyTeX-2.

tinytex 0.39

  * The tinytex and tinytex-releases repositories have been moved from @yihui's
    account to @rstudio, i.e., their addresses are https://github.com/rstudio/
    tinytex/ and https://github.com/rstudio/tinytex-releases/ now.

  * The full TeX Live has been pre-built as the TinyTeX-2 bundle in the daily
    release of TinyTeX: https://github.com/rstudio/tinytex-releases/releases/
    tag/daily To know how to install it, please see https://github.com/rstudio/
    tinytex-releases#installation.

  * If tinytex::install_tinytex() detects an existing LaTeX distribution in the
    system, it will ask if you want to continue the installation in an
    interactive R session. If this function is called in a non-interactive R
    session (e.g., via the Rscript command), it will throw an error in this
    case, unless the argument force = TRUE is used. This is to prevent an
    accidental installation of TinyTeX (which occurred on CRAN recently).
    Another way to prevent the installation is to set the environment variable
    TINYTEX_PREVENT_INSTALL=true.

  * On *nix, if the dir ~/.local/bin exists, it will be used as the bin path
    for TinyTeX, i.e., symlinks of TeX Live binaries will be created to this
    dir. If it does not exist, ~/bin/ will be used as usual (thanks, @salim-b,
    #365).

tinytex 0.38
  * Fixed #354: set the env var TEXLIVE_PREFER_OWN=1 before calling tlmgr() to
    use TeX Live's own curl instead of curl on PATH (thanks, @netique).

  * Fixed latex3/luaotfload#213: detect the lua-uni-algos package in case of
    error module 'lua-uni-normalize' not found (thanks, @dragonstyle).

  * Added the help page ?tinytex (thanks, @AmeliaMN, #361).

  * Use set -e and curl -f to fail immediately in the *nix installation script
    (thanks, @gaborcsardi, #356).

tinytex 0.37
  * Fixed rstudio/bookdown#1274: latexmk() should run the LaTeX engine one more
    time before calling makeindex (thanks, @trevorcampbell @ttimbers).

tinytex 0.36
  * Fixed the failure to detect the hyphen-french package from the LaTeX log:
    https://stackoverflow.com/q/69887190/559676

  * xfun::session_info('tinytex') can report the TeX Live (TinyTeX) version
    now.

  * Improved the way tinytex::tlmgr_repo() normalizes the repo URL (#346).

tinytex 0.35
  * install_tinytex() will automatically switch to using https://github.com/
    yihui/tinytex-releases/releases/tag/daily to install the daily version of
    TinyTeX if accessing https://yihui.org fails (#332).

  * install-bin-unix.sh and install-bin-windows.bat now install TinyTeX from
    https://github.com/yihui/tinytex-releases/releases/tag/daily instead of
    https://yihui.org/tinytex/TinyTeX.* (#270).

  * Fixed #322: automatically install hyphen-* packages in case of polyglossia
    warnings.

  * Run tlmgr conf texmf max_print_line 10000 to prevent LaTeX from wrapping
    log lines (#322 (comment)). If you do not like this configuration, you may
    run tlmgr conf texmf --delete max_print_line to delete it.

tinytex 0.34
  * The --data argument in tl_sizes() is properly quoted now to make it work on
    Windows (thanks, @IndrajeetPatil #329, @cderv #330).

Worse and furthermore, the pid file location hard coded in the method script causes mariadb to ignore a pid_file=/x/y directive in its config file.

# htmltools 0.5.4

## New Features

* Added  a   new  `bindFillRole()`  function  for   modifying  `tag()`
  object(s) into tags that are allowed to grow and shrink when their
  parent is opinionated about their height. See `help(bindFillRole,
  "htmltools")` for documentation and examples. Note the primary
  motivation for adding these functions is to power `{bslib}`'s new
  `card()`        API        (in        particular,        [responsive
  sizing](https://rstudio.github.io/bslib/articles/cards.html#responsive-sizing))
  as well as the new `fill` arguments in `shiny::plotOutput()`,
  `shiny::imageOutput()`,                         `shiny::uiOutput()`,
  `htmlwidgets::sizingPolicy()`,                                   and
  `htmlwidgets::shinyWidgetOutput()`. (#343)

## Bug fixes

* Closed #331: `copyDependencyToDir()` creates `outputDir`
  recursively, which happens in Quarto or when `lib_dir` points to a
  nested directory. (@gadenbuie, #332)

* Closed #346: `tagQuery()`'s `$remove()`, `$after()`, `$before()`,
  `$replaceWith()` had a bug that prevented expected behavior when
  sibling children values where not tag elements. (#348)

# htmltools 0.5.3

## Breaking changes

* Closed #305: `htmlPreserve()` no longer uses _inline_ code blocks
  for Pandoc's raw attribute feature when used inside a _non_-inline
  knitr/rmarkdown code chunk, and as a result, in this case, an
  additional `<p>` tag is no longer wrapped around the HTML
  content. (#306)

## Bug fixes

* Closed #301: `tagQuery()` was failing to copy all `tagList()` html
  dependencies within nest child tag lists. `tagQuery()` will now
  relocate html dependencies as child objects. (#302)

* Closed #290: htmltools previously did not specify which version of
  fastmap to use, and would fail to install with an old version of
  fastmap. (#291)

* `copyDependencyToDir()` no longer creates empty directories for
  dependencies that do not have any files. (@gadenbuie, #276)

* Closed #320: `copyDependencyToDir()` now works with dependencies
  with specified attributes. (@dmurdoch, #321)

# httpuv 1.6.9

* Fixed #354: The incorrect method was called to clear a `vector`. (#355)

* The `src/Makevars` file no longer sets `CXX_STD=CXX11`, and the
  `DESCRIPTION` file no longer lists `SystemRequirements: C++11`,
  because newer R versions always support C++11. (#356, #357)

# httpuv 1.6.8

* Fixed #351: A race condition could cause httpuv to crash when

  implementation. (#346)

# httpuv 1.6.6

* Update docs for CRAN (#343)

* Updated to libuv 1.43.0. (#328)

* Fixed #336: `encodeURI()` and `encodeURIComponent()` printed a space
  instead of a leading zero, as in `"% A"` instead of `"%0A"`. (#337)

Aleph One 1.3a1
===============

This is a pre-release to allow community members to assist in testing some internal code changes. Please see the Pfhorums thread if
you would like to help.

The latest stable release is: Aleph One 1.2.1

Aleph One 1.2.1
===============

The 1.2.1 release fixes a crashing bug when carnage message MML is used. Otherwise it is identical to the 1.2 release.

Aleph One 1.2
=============

The Aleph One 1.2 release features online leaderboards and game statistics, a streamlined saved-game system, and full multiplayer
support for the original Marathon game. This release also includes a number of other new features and bug fixes.

If you do not use the bundled downloads, we recommend that you update your scenario files. Each game includes a new plugin for the
online leaderboards, and the Marathon scenario includes an important compatibility fix.

Aleph One 1.2 is not network compatible with the previous stable release.

Online features

Aleph One now integrates with the online leaderboards and player stats at lhowon.org. Sign up within Aleph One to send your
Marathon, Marathon 2, and Marathon Infinity game results to lhowon.org, where you can see your overall win percentage, kill totals,
and more.

From the new "Internet" preferences section, you can register your chat name, opt in to player stats, and configure other options
relating to online play.

Saved games

Saving your game no longer stops the action until you type in a name. Each time you use a pattern buffer, a new saved game is
created. The "Continue Saved Game" dialog shows you the in-game location, date, and game time for every save. Use the "Load Other"
button to open a saved game from an earlier version of Aleph One.

Marathon compatibility

  * Cooperative play is now supported in the original Marathon scenario
  * Net games no longer use incorrect physics models
  * Goal checking in repair levels now matches the original game
  * Grenade trajectory in low-gravity levels now matches the original game
  * Certain terminals and rechargers could be activated when they shouldn't have been. You must use the 1.2 scenario data files to
    get this update.
  * If you have an existing saved game on an "exploration" level, you may need to re-explore the level before you can exit. We
    apologize for the inconvenience.

Lua

  * Additions to the Lua API:
      - Triggers.projectile_created()
      - Game.dead_players_drop_items
      - Level.index
      - Level.map_checksum
      - Line.visible_on_automap
      - Polygon.visible_on_automap
  * Additions to the Lua HUD API:
      - Level.name
      - Level.index
      - Level.map_checksum
  * Custom fields on projectiles, monsters, etc. are cleared when the object is destroyed
  * Lua error messages contain more diagnostic info
  * Player:find_action_key_target() no longer triggers side effects

Other changes

  * New preferences:
      - Camera Bobbing (Graphics) — if disabled, the camera and weapon will remain steady, to reduce motion sickness
      - Join Pregame Lobby by Default (Internet -> Pregame Lobby) — if checked, when you choose "Join Network Game", Aleph One
        automatically presses "Find Internet Game" on the next screen. Hold down the Alt (Option) key to join a local game.
      - Use Netscript in Films, Netscript File (Environment) — use these preferences to play back films of games recorded with
        netscripts. Solo Lua scripts are no longer loaded during playback of net game films.
  * Logging in to the pregame lobby uses HTTPS to protect your password
  * The editing cursor in text fields can be moved with the arrow keys or the mouse
  * Command history in the Lua/chat console can be accessed with the up and down arrow keys
  * Team color selection in the Join dialog is disabled when the game does not support teams
  * Plugin API changes:
      - Scenario compatibility, to create plugins that load only for specific scenarios
      - More combinations of items are allowed within a single plugin
  * The Plugins dialog (Preferences > Environment > Plugins) lists the components of each plugin
  * Lua HUD support is available by plugin only
  * A custom port can be used when gathering net games. The port number can only be changed by editing the XML preferences file.

Crashes fixed

  * Maps with invalid light indexes in OpenGL (Shader) renderer
  * 3D models lacking texture coordinates
  * #STATIC command in terminals (SF #580)
  * Joining a net game after a "map not found" film playback error (SF #504)

Graphical fixes

  * 3D models display even when their center point is behind player
  * Repair chip inventory is shown in Marathon Enhanced HUD plugin
  * Carnage messages during film replay are shown for the currently viewed player
  * Static, pulsate, and wobble transfer modes improved in OpenGL (Shader) renderer
  * <player light="..."> MML setting respected in OpenGL (Shader) renderer
  * Motion sensor on magnetic levels works properly when frame rate lags (SF #372)
  * Styled chat names display properly in pregame lobby game info dialog

Platform-specific fixes

  * Linux:
      - A new configure script now succeeds when optional dependencies are missing. The script also summarizes which features are
        enabled. Packagers should review the configure options, which have changed.
      - Aleph One builds and runs with more versions of FFmpeg / libav (SF #576, #578, #582)
      - Web links no longer cause Aleph One to become unresponsive on some systems
  * Mac OS X:
      - Drag-and-drop now works in 10.10 (Yosemite)
      - Updated third-party libraries
  * Windows:
      - The .save level console command successfully overwrites existing files
      - Updated third-party libraries

Other fixes

  * MML from solo Lua plugins is no longer loaded after all other plugins
  * Plugins ignore references to non-existent files
  * Popping is reduced in certain ambient sounds
  * Various MML settings are correctly reset when changing levels
  * Some common but unhelpful messages are no longer written to the log file
  * File-overwrite dialogs respect the "Hide file extensions" preference
  * The first save in a cooperative game is less likely to fail
  * Saving a game creates fewer temporary files
  * Solo Lua is loaded when continuing a saved game even when the map file is missing
  * Joystick/mouse buttons mapped to map or volume controls are no longer ignored
  * UPnP configuration now works with more routers

# rio 1.0.1

* POTENTIALLY BREAKING: Due to compiling time concerns, roll back the decision to move `arrow` to `Imports`. It is now `Suggests`. `setclass = "arrow"` works if `arrow` is installed. #315 #376

# rio 1.0.0

* Stop loading the entire namespace of a suggested package when it is available #296
* Unexport objects: `.import`, `.export`, `is_file_text`; remove
  documentation for `arg_reconcile` #321
* Update Examples to make them more realistic #327
* Add support for `qs` #275 h/t David Schoch
* Use `arrow` to import / export `feather` #340
* `export_list` can write multiple data frames to a single archive
  file (e.g. zip, tar) or a directory #346 h/t David Schoch
* `get_info` is added #350
* POTENTIALLY BREAKING: `setclass` parameter is now
  authoritative. Therefore: `import("starwars.csv", data.table = TRUE,
  setclass = "tibble")` will return a tibble (unlike previous versions
  where a data.table is returned). The default class is data
  frame. You can either explicitly use the `setclass` parameter; or
  set the option: `options(rio.import.class = "data.table")`. h/t
  David Schoch #336
* Parquet and feather are now formats supported out of the box;
  Possible to setclass to `arrow` / `arrow_table`; ArrowTabular class
  can be exported #315
* Add "extension", "labelled" vignettes
* Support readODS 2.1.0 features such as reading and writing Flat ODS;
  export Multiple data frames #358
* POTENTIALLY BREAKING: Use `writexl` instead of `openxlsx`. Option to
  read xlsx with `openxlsx` (i.e. `import("starwars.xlsx", readxl =
  FALSE)`) is always `TRUE`. The ability to overwrite an existing
  sheet in an existing xlsx file is also removed. It is against the
  design principle of `rio`.

* POTENTIALLY BREAKING: The following options are deprecated:
  `import(fread)`, `import(readr = TRUE)`, `import(haven)`,
  `import(readxl)` and `export(fwrite)`. import will almost use
  `data.table`, `haven`, `readxl`, and internal function (for fwf) to
  import and export data. Currently, those options stay for backward
  compatibility but will be removed in v2.0.0. #343 h/t David Schoch

* POTENTIALLY BREAKING: `...` is handled differently. Underlying
 functions using "Tidy" convention (e.g. `readxl::read_xlsx()`) can
 use "Base Convention" (See the new vignette: `remap`). Unused
 arguments passed to the underlying function as `...` are silently
 ignored by default. A new option `rio.ignoreunusedargs` is added to
 control this behavior. #326

* Bug fixes
   - ... is correctly passed for exporting ODS and feather #318
   - POTENTIALLY BREAKING: JSON are exported in UTF-8 by default;
     solved encoding issues on Windows R < 4.2. This won't affect any
     modern R installation where UTF-8 is the default. #318
   - POTENTIALLY BREAKING: YAML are exported using
     yaml::write_yaml(). But it can't pass the UTF-8 check on older
     systems.  Disclaimer added. #318

   - More check for the `file` argument #301
   - `import_list` works with single Excel/HTML/Zip online #294
   - Correct XML/HTML escaping #303
   - Create directory if it doesn't exist #347
* Declutter
   - remove the obsolete data.table option #323
   - write all documentation blocks in markdown #311
   - remove all @importFrom #325 h/t David Schoch
   - rearrange "Package Philosophy" as a Vignette #320
   - Create a single source of truth about all import and export functions #313
   - Clarify all concepts: now there is only `format` #351
* New authors
   - David Schoch @schochastics

# rio 0.5.30

* Maintenance release: new maintainer
* Mark `.sas7bdat` as deprecated
* Change the minimum R version to 3.6

# rio 0.5.29

* fixes for CRAN

# rio 0.5.28

* Various fixes to tests, examples, and documentation for CRAN.

# scales 1.3.0

## Better type support
* `rescale(I(x), ...)` and `rescale_mid(I(x), ...)` return `I(x)` unaltered
  (@teunbrand, #403).
* Add a rescale method for `difftime` objects (#382)
* Add better support for `difftime` objects. `label_timespan()` adds
  functionality for adding correct unit suffix to timespan data,
  `breaks_timespan()` adds functionality for finding pleasant breakpoints across
  the various bases in time units, while `transform_timespan()` wraps it all
  together and provides an alternative to `transform_hms()` (#212)

## Ranges
* `train_continuous()` coerces `new` to numeric before calculating range
  (@teunbrand, #369).
* Training on factor data no longer sorts the range after multiple training
  passes if the new `fct` argument of `train_discrete()` is used (#383)
* The `DiscreteRange` class now keeps track on whether it has been trained on
  factor data.
* Attempt to make the sort behavior of the range consistent for character
  vectors during training. Mixing of character and factor data will make the
  factor level order take precedence no matter if the training starts with a
  charactor vector

## Transformations
* Transformation function have been renamed to `transform_*`-prefixed names
  instead of `*_trans`-suffixed names. This allows for a better tab-completion
  search of transformations. The S3 class of transformations has been
  renamed from `"trans"` to `"transform"`. `new_transform()` replaces
  `trans_new()` and `trim_to_domain()` replaces `trans_range()`. All old
  functions are kept for posterity.
* `transform_sqrt()` no longer returns an inverse for values outside of its
  domain (#214)
* Add an inverse (area) hyperbolic sine transformation `transform_asinh()`,
  which provides a logarithm-like transformation of a space, but which
  accommodates negative values (#297)
* Correct the domain calculation for `transform_compose()` (@mjskay, #408).
* Transformation objects can optionally include the derivatives of the transform
  and the inverse transform (@mjskay, #322).

## Misc
* The `scale_cut` argument in `number()` now works as advertised for values
  below the lowest cut value (#346)
* `scale_cut` will now choose a more appropriate cut in the case of the first
  cut creating an irrational-ish number.
* Added a new option to the `style_positive` argument in `label_*()` functions.
  Setting this to `"space"` will add a figure space in front of the number to
  make it easier to align positive and negative values as figure space takes up
  the same amount of space as `-` (#366)
* `label_dollar()` has been superseeded by `label_currency()` for clarity (#344)
* Palette functions now have the `pal_`-prefix. The old `_pal`-suffixed versions
  are kept for backward compatibility.

## 1.10.0 - 2024-06-10

* When building with CMake, it is now possible to disable the building
  of binaries (e.g., `mmdblookup`) with the `MAXMINDDB_BUILD_BINARIES`
  option and the install target generation with the `MAXMINDDB_INSTALL`
  option. Pull request by Seena Fallah. GitHub #342.
* CMake now makes greater use of GNUInstallDirs. Pull request by Maximilian
  Downey Twiss. GitHub #346.
* The reader can now lookup records on a database with a search tree
  that is greater than 4 gigabytes without sometimes returning erroneous
  results due to an integer overflow.
