This repository serves as the official source of truth for the Microsoft Trusted Root Program requirements.
As of October 2025, all future updates to the Root Program requirements will be published and maintained here on GitHub. This change supports increased transparency, version control, and easier integration into automation and compliance workflows.
📢 This repository supersedes the previously published requirements on the Microsoft Learn website and other legacy locations.
This repository includes the complete set of Microsoft Root Program requirements, including:
- Program policies and participation criteria
- Root inclusion and removal requirements
- Audit and disclosure expectations
- Technical and operational obligations for Certificate Authorities (CAs)
All documents in this repository are versioned and updated through a clear changelog process.
