New Features

1. Jinja Functions for Print Formats

Developers can now use custom Jinja functions inside print formats. These functions are auto-loaded through the app configuration.

Available Jinja Functions

  • qr(value) — Generate a QR code image.
  • barcode(value) — Generate a barcode image.
  • qr_link(value) — Generate a QR code leading to a URL.

Add them inside print formats like:

{{ qr(doc.name) }}
{{ barcode(doc.item_code) }}
{{ qr_link(doc.uuid) }}

2. Global JS Function to Add QR Codes to Any Field

A global JavaScript function add_qr_to_description(frm, fieldname, value) is now available. It allows developers to auto-generate QR codes inside description areas of fields.

Enhancements

  • Cleaner integration for QR + Barcode utilities.
  • Better compatibility with standard and custom print formats.
  • Simplified developer onboarding experience.
