PC Manager 1.1.0
PC Manager 1.1.0
A safety, honesty and reliability pass across the whole app (the round-1 UX/functionality audit).
Added
- A shared confirmation system with severity tiers and a type-to-confirm gate for the most
destructive actions (recursive deletes, PATH/firewall wipes, account demotion). - Recycle Bin by default for Force delete, Cleaner's personal-data targets, Large files,
Duplicates and leftover cleanup; permanent delete is an explicit opt-in. - Automatic thermal cutoff for stress tests, plus a warning when temperatures can't be read.
- Stop button + live countdown for packet capture; Cancel button for "Update all".
Changed
- Destructive actions that used to fire on a single click now confirm (Force delete, PnP disable,
Recipes, TCP kill, network reset, Apps uninstall, scheduled-task disable, mode apply, DoH, …). - Hosts /
.wslconfig/ PATH editors back up and round-trip content they don't model instead of
rewriting from a partial view. - The Fixes restore-point promise is kept — it stops and asks when no rollback can be created.
- Quarantine wording is honest ("neutralized", not "encrypted"); Virus-scan clean state is
coverage-aware; Defender protection-off is framed in red; AI-analyst snapshot consent is per-provider. - Read failures surface as errors instead of an empty list (drivers, tasks, firewall, Bluetooth, TCP);
Wi-Fi distinguishes "open network" from "couldn't read the key". - Long lists are virtualized (Services, Duplicates, Debloater); Disk usage no longer keeps a node per
file (avoids OOM on large drives). - Sysinternals asks before accepting its EULA; Driver Store no longer pre-selects superseded packages.
Fixed
- Brightness writes are debounced; charger energy no longer over-counts across a tray/sleep gap;
battery health is clamped to 100%; crash/reliability parsing no longer depends on English event text.
Portable build: download the .zip, unzip anywhere, run PCManager.App.exe. Or use the installer (PCManager-Setup-1.1.0.exe). Verify either with its .sha256.
