- Huzefa: I worked on setting up the initial Django app. I built the initial APIs and worked on the database. As the needs for APIs changed or more APIs came up, I helped update them or create new APIs (get_tickers, get_watchlist_score, update_sentiment, etc). I also worked on fixing backend bugs as they showed up. I also helped with creating the API schemas and I created the final API documentation for the backend. Lastly, all members of the team worked on presentations, scribing duties, and keeping track of documentation and deadlines.
- Ibtida: My main contributions include UI design and frontend development in Swift. I was responsible for coming up wth 1 of 2 UX wireframes which heavily inspired the final design and feel of the app. I Pair programmed with Sinmisola for completing the frontend portion of the skeletal product featuring multiple storyboards, one VC file/view controller, Model (structs/frontend data store), API requests, data display, click actions, and animations. Additionally, I also paired with Nischal to implement accounts (both through Google and deviceID). More generally, I worked on a large number of miscellaneous frontend bug fixes and also filmed and presented the Skeletal Product demo video with Nischal.
- Jacob: Contributions include setting up the initial backend structure and framework. Implemented the initial database for user and ticker information, including mock-up diagrams for potential database designs. Responsible for a large portion of the final database. In addition also contributed to much of the heavy lifting with the backend APIs. Storing necessary information on both the user and stock sections, continue without sign in, user creation, and sentiment storage. Each team member also participated in presentations, team leadership roles, project organization both with trello and github.
- Nischal: My main contributions are the full backend implementation of real-time notifications as well the Google sign in feature. For the real-time notifications I had to set up Amazon SES (Simple Email Service). In order to use the free trial for the service, I also had to create an entire Amazon EC2 server running the Django framework to serve as an HTTP endpoint to send emails out to the appropriate users. I added endpoints in our primary backend server (on Digital Ocean) to all parts related to managing real-time notifications. I worked with Ibtida for the Google sign in feature since he worked on the frontend. For the Google sign in feature, I redid parts of the database as well as the sign in and continue without signing in endpoints. Everyone helped with the presentations, project management, overall project decisions, etc.
- Pranay: I helped set up the sentiment system on the backend by researching and working on the model design, along with handling the overall analysis of data from Twitter and Reddit with Vishnu. I was also responsible for designing and implementing the sentiment and overlay chart features in the app's frontend (collaborated with Sinmisola), including researching appropriate libraries and documentation along with animations. I contributed to the app design's overall style, including building and animating the launch screen of the app and making style elements consistent in all views. I helped fix miscellaneous frontend and backend bugs, and also contributed to editing and compiling the skeletal and MVP product videos.
- Sinmisola: My main contributions include UI design and frontend development in Swift. I was responsible for coming up wth 1 of 2 UX wireframes which heavily inspired the final design and feel of the app. I Pair programmed with Ibtida for completing the frontend portion of the skeletal product featuring multiple storyboards, some VC files/view controllers, Models (structs/frontend data store), API requests, data display, click actions, animations, and segues. Additionally, I also paired with Pranay to pre-process the stock graph data, and setup the model for requesting the data (through API calls). More generally, I worked on a large number of miscellaneous frontend bug fixes.
- Vishnu: I worked on the sentiment system primarily - developing a reasonable machine learning model for the algorithm, training the model with stock sentiment data, and storing and comparing several different models such as logistic regression and various Bayesian models. In the backend, I helped with setting up the API calls in order to ensure that our endpoints returned sentiment data properly. I also helped set up the sentiment system to return the top 3 triggering posts (a change that's been reverted unfortunately in exchange for the sentiment graphs). I helped out in the front end for the Search page, making certain that we displayed the popular stocks in order of most subscribers. I also worked on creating a logo.
