Commands

Every command GenesisForms adds lives under the /genesis root. All of them are admin/debug tools — there are no player-facing commands, since every gimmick is triggered in-game through items and accessories instead. Every permission node below defaults to op level 4 (i.e. vanilla operators only) unless your permissions plugin overrides it.

Giving Items

These all follow the same shape: /genesis give<Type> <player> <id>, where <id> tab-completes from whatever's currently registered — which means the suggestions (and what counts as a valid ID) change based on your config files and reflect the current state after the last /genesis reload.

Command Permission Description
/genesis giveMegaStone <player> <mega-stone> genesisforms.giveMegaStone Gives a Mega Stone. <mega-stone> is the mega evolution's config key (from Mega_Evolutions.json), not the item ID — only entries with has_item: true show up, since itemless megas have no stone to give.
/genesis giveZCrystal <player> <z-crystal> genesisforms.giveZCrystal Gives a Z-Crystal defined in Z_Crystals.json (both typed and species entries are valid).
/genesis giveHeldItem <player> <held-item> genesisforms.giveHeldItem Gives a held item — covers both Held_Form_Items.json (e.g. Rusted Sword-style form changers) and Held_Battle_Items.json entries.
/genesis giveKeyItem <player> <key-item> genesisforms.giveKeyItem The broadest give command. Covers every Mega/Tera/Z/Dynamax accessory, Key_Form_Items.json cycle items, Fusion_Items.json items, Possession_Items.json items, and the featureless entries plus Mega Crystal / Zygarde Cube from Misc_Items.json.
/genesis giveBagItem <player> <bag-item> genesisforms.giveBagItem Gives a Dynamax bag item — dynamax_candy, max_honey, max_mushrooms, or max_soup, whichever are enabled in Max_Items.json.
/genesis giveTeraShard <player> <tera-shard> genesisforms.giveTeraShard Gives a Tera Shard from Tera_Shards.json, used to permanently retype a Pokémon's Tera Type.

Note

There's no separate "give accessory" command — Mega/Tera/Z/Dynamax accessories are all handed out through giveKeyItem alongside everything else in that item family. See Accessories.json.

Tera Orb Management

The Tera Accessory doubles as a Tera Orb with a charge value (backed by the item's durability bar). If Config.json's tera_settings.require_orb_recharge is enabled, the orb fully depletes the moment a Pokémon Terastallizes and can't be used again until it's recharged. These two commands let admins bypass the wait.

Command Permission Description
/genesis setOrbUsage <player> <percent> genesisforms.setOrbUsage Sets the target's Tera Orb charge to an exact value, 0100. 100 means fully depleted (needs a recharge), 0 means fully charged. Checks the item in the player's main hand first; if that's not a Tera Accessory, it applies to every Tera Accessory found in their valid key-item slots instead (see How It Works).
/genesis rechargeOrb <player> genesisforms.rechargeOrb Shortcut for setOrbUsage <player> 0 — instantly fully recharges the target's orb(s).

Utility / Admin

Command Permission Description
/genesis reload genesisforms.reload Reloads every GenesisForms config file from disk — config.json, messages.json, events.json, battle_forms.json, mega_evolutions.json, all items/** files (misc, held, key, bag, accessories). As of 1.2.7 this is a full reload; earlier versions only reloaded a handful of files. Note that this reloads values, not item registrations — adding or removing an entry from a map-style config (e.g. a new mega evolution or held item) still requires a server restart, since Minecraft's item registry is locked after startup.
/genesis resetData <player> genesisforms.resetData A data-repair command for players stuck in a bad state. Reverts every form-changing effect (mega, tera, fusion, battle form, etc.) on every Pokémon in both their party and PC, clears their tracked "active mega" slot, and strips Cobblemon's own key_stone/tera_orb/z_ring/dynamax_band key-item flags so the vanilla-style battle UI icons reset too. Doesn't touch inventory items — it only fixes Pokémon/player state.
/genesis clearGlowTeams genesisforms.clearglowteams Added in 1.2.7. Sweeps the server scoreboard for any team named glow_* and deletes them. Some gimmicks apply a colored glow outline via a per-Pokémon scoreboard team (see Events); normally that team is torn down automatically when the glow ends, but a crash or an ungraceful Pokémon removal can leave one behind. This is a blunt cleanup net for that — safe to run any time, since it only ever removes glow bookkeeping teams, never anything else on your scoreboard.

Warning

clearGlowTeams's permission node is genesisforms.clearglowteams (all lowercase) rather than the genesisforms.clearGlowTeams you might expect from the command name. Double-check casing if your permissions plugin treats nodes as case-sensitive.

Tip

If a player reports a Pokémon stuck in a mega/tera/fusion form that won't revert, /genesis resetData is almost always the fix — it's the same cleanup path the mod runs internally, just triggered on demand.
