Troubleshooting

The application does not start

Install the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime.

Settings are missing

Check:

<application directory>\Settings\EasyVersionBackup.settings.json

A file was skipped

The file may be locked by another application.

Close the application using the file and run the backup again.

A backup was canceled

No backup files are created.

Source cleanup and retention are not executed.

The version number is not increased.

Retention deleted nothing

Check:

• Retention is enabled
• Enough backups exist
• Protected tags are not selected
• The retention mode is correct

Source cleanup deleted nothing

Check:

• Source cleanup is enabled
• The rule matches the file
• The configured folder exists
• The backup completed successfully

The target cannot be written

Check folder permissions and available disk space.
