Inviting nominations for UCP Payments Tech Council

Announcement

The Payments Tech Council Charter Proposal has been approved by the UCP Governing Council. Nominations for the founding Payments Tech Council (Payments TC) cohort are now open, and we invite eligible organizations to apply by July 28th.

Purpose

The Payments TC will drive interoperability within the payments ecosystem, enhance the choice of payment options, incorporate verification flows to increase security, and support diverse international market needs. By uniting ecosystem partners around open standards, the Payments TC will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of agentic commerce.

Structure

The Payments TC operates under the UCP Governing Council and works in conjunction with the other Domain Technical Councils. Seat allocation, voting rules, and formal governance will be determined by the UCP Governing Council, with the goal of balanced representation from founding organizations and the broader UCP community.

How to Apply

Organizations with payments domain expertise and a commitment to UCP's open, vendor-agnostic approach are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on multiple factors including technical depth in the payments domain, ecosystem representation, and demonstrated contributions to the protocol's health and adoption.
