Discord invite shows “invalid or expired” — is the community blocking joins?

Context

Several people (including me) hit Discord’s “Invite invalid or expired” screen when opening the official invite from the README / GitHub:

It feels like the project is blocking people from joining the community.

What I checked

• README, CONTRIBUTING, landing constants, and in-app “Report problem” all point at the same invite code UZv7JjxbwG.
• Discord’s public invite API still resolves that code to guild agent-orchestrator with expires_at: null (no expiry) and a healthy member count — so this does not look like a deliberately deleted invite.
• Still, real users see “invalid/expired” and cannot enter.

Questions for maintainers / community

1. Is anyone else seeing this? (region, mobile app vs browser, logged-in Discord account vs guest)
2. Are there server-side restrictions (age gate, phone verify, ban list, region, onboarding) that surface as “invalid invite”?
3. Can maintainers publish a never-expire vanity / permanent invite (or rotate and update all README locales + app constants) if the current one is flaky?
4. For people who cannot reach Discord at all (e.g. network blocks), what is the preferred fallback — GitHub Discussions, Issues, X/Twitter @aoagents?

Please confirm whether joins are intentionally restricted. If not, a short note in CONTRIBUTING (“if Discord fails → open a Discussion/Issue”) would help contributors who currently bounce off a dead-looking invite.

Hi! The Discord invite in the README is currently working on my end, and I’ve verified that the official invite is still present in the README.

If the official invite is showing as “Invite invalid or expired”, you can also try this alternate invite:

I’m not sure why Discord is showing the invalid/expired message for some users, since the invite itself appears to be active. It could potentially be related to your country or region, Discord’s regional restrictions, account settings, verification requirements, or a temporary Discord-side issue. Sometimes Discord can also show a generic “invalid or expired” message even when the invite itself has not actually expired.

If you’re still unable to join, please try opening the invite from a different browser or device, or while logged into your Discord account. You can also try the alternate invite above

If the alternate invite works while the official one does not, that would help narrow down whether the problem is specific to the original invite. If neither invite works, it may be more likely to be related to your Discord account, network, country/region, or Discord itself rather than the project’s invite.
