Will be teaching this with @Scottan - here's a checklist of things to do for the workshop itself.

• book a teaching room - I have booked the Turing seminar room in the Coupland 1 building, even though it's apparently only bookable by Health Sciences staff - it might be worth coming up with a backup just in case).
• create new events in the training catalogue: Programming with Python
• update the custom reminder email with room details (this is sent 1 week before the course)
• advertise the course as widely as possible given the time constraint (note: there is an introduction to python running on April 16th where I would hope we could get some further interest):
  • RSE Training
  • CADIR groups
  • Research IT newsletter - message sent to Gillian
  • Intro to Python - Jonny says he will
  • ???
• move applicants from the waiting list onto the new event
• find helpers for the course:
  • @BenitoMatischen
• create an Outlook calendar event and invite helpers and ResearchITNews@manchester.ac.uk
• check for last-minute applicants (< 1 week before the event) and email them the details from the custom reminder email

We will also run through the current issues list in the repo and deal with any that are straightforward to do in the next few weeks ahead of the workshop.
