Help fix these upstream issues affecting our Vim workflow

Hey everyone,

For those of us who are forced to use VS Code for work but rely on Vim/Neovim extensions to keep our sanity, there are two upstream VS Code issues currently bottlenecking modal editing and keybinding behaviors.

To get Microsoft to actually prioritize and fix these, the issues need more upvotes (👍 reactions) from the community.
