Title: Build the About page
User Story:
As a user who wants to know more about the platform, I want to visit an About page so that I can learn who built this site, why it exists, and whether I can trust the information it provides.
Business Value:
Users are more likely to trust trail recommendations and responsible recreation guidance when they know there's a real, credible person behind the platform. Evan's background as a trail guide is a genuine differentiator — it sets this site apart from generic trail directories and gives users a reason to come back. An About page turns a website into a story users can connect with.
Description:
Create a dedicated About page (about.html) that introduces Evan Holt, his background as a trail guide, and the mission behind the platform. The page should feel personal and genuine — not like a corporate bio. It should be reachable from the main navigation on every page and work correctly on mobile and desktop.
Acceptance Criteria:

An About page exists at about.html and is reachable from the main navigation on every page of the site
Page includes a clear introduction to Evan Holt and his background as a trail guide
Page covers the mission of the platform — promoting responsible trail use and encouraging people to spend time outdoors
Content is written in a warm, personal tone — not formal or corporate
Page is divided into clear sections with headings so it is easy to scan, for example: Who I Am, Why I Built This, My Mission
A photo of Evan is included if available — if not, a placeholder image related to hiking or nature is acceptable
Content is readable and well laid out on both mobile and desktop
About link in the navigation is clearly labeled and highlighted as active when the user is on this page
Page loads without errors or broken links

Out of Scope:

Contact forms or email functionality
User comments or community features
Any backend or database functionality
Social media links (can be added later if needed)

Notes:
The tone of this page matters as much as the content. Evan's credibility as a trail guide is the platform's biggest trust signal — the writing should feel like it comes from a real person who genuinely loves the outdoors, not a polished marketing page. Keep paragraphs short and readable. If a photo is used, make sure it includes descriptive alt text.
