This can probably be worked around with WINE_MONO_OVERRIDES=Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar,Gac=y

We default to not loading any XNA libraries from the GAC (where the official XNA redistributable installs them) so that the builtin ones can be used instead (because the core XNA libraries don't work in Wine Mono). But, we don't have a builtin replacement for Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar. We should probably be more specific about which builtin libraries we want to use.

Here are some launch options that work around the error loading Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar:

WINE_MONO_OVERRIDES='Microsoft.Xna.Framework.*,Gac=n;Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar,Gac=y' %command%

Unfortunately, it's not enough to get into the game. Now it crashes after a loading screen.

Looking into Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar further, it seems to rely on internals of XNA that FNA doesn't implement. So, unless someone makes a replacement library for .Avatar and fixes whatever other issues FNA has, or gets the XNA redist libraries working in Wine Mono, this isn't going to work without .NET Framework.

Same problem as reported earlier. But, we should look into adding this library to FNA.NetStub.

Might also be possible to work around with WINE_MONO_OVERRIDES=Microsoft.Xna.Framework.*,Gac=y %command% command-line options which uses the actual XNA4 redist instead of FNA. That probably didn't work when I made my earlier comment suggesting overriding just Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Avatar. But XNA4 might have other problems, there's a reason it's not the default.
