Hello!
First of all, I am very sorry if this is most likely a problem caused by my own linux illiteracy. I've only been using it since January.
I've been having problems running pretty much half of my library on linux, with each game seemingly . Here's a rundown of what happens whenever i try to run some of my games, sorted from worst to best outcome:
Foxhole:
-Boots up, shows one frame of the loading screen, then freezes.
-My desktop environment (KDE Plasma) refuses to work.
-I cannot exit fullscreen, close tthe application, access the taskbar or do anything other than move my cursor around.
-I have to reboot my entire system to return to my desktop.
Death Stranding:
-Game runs for a few seconds, then the screen freezes,
-Either i wait for the window to close on its own, or i press the meta key to pull up the taskbar, at which point the game advances by one or two frames, before locking up for good.
No Man's Sky:
-The game runs fine for a seemeingly random period of time, ranging from a few minutes to a couple hours, regardles of where i am or what i do in game.
-The game then freezes, i receive a crash report prompt, but the window refuses to close after i close the prompt.
Dorfromantik:
-The game crashes immediately after i launch it through steam using proton.
-Somehow, the game performs perfectly while running it via wine.
Mewgenics:
-Runs perfectly through Proton.
-Maybe knowing which games don't cause issues could help figuring what exactly the cause of my crashes is.
Native Linux games also run well.
I've already tried:
-Verifying game files.
-Using multiple different proton versions.
-Updating all of my drivers.
-Making sure i have all necessary drivers installed.
-Performing for conflicting packages multiple times.
-Making sure my games are installed on a correctly formatted drive.
-Adding the instructions "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%" to the launch options, as suggested by someone from the ProtonDB IRC chat.
-Searching for others who've had similar issues.
None of those things worked.
