Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
{Problem 1}: Bluetooth does not work;
{Problem 2}: Attempts to reinstall SteamOS - ALL FAILED
Expected : a smooth installation (hope for BT recognition)
Result : Errors, the {same} USB loader will not boot. "Alternate GPT header not at the end of disk. GPT: 15124999 != 245759999. GPT: Use GNU Parted to correct GPT errors"
{Problem 3}: Preparing -another- USB stick (16Gb, up to 6 times) and loading it got further then the GPT error from {Problem 2} ánd did a forced reboot, ultimately also resulting in "GPT: Use GNU Parted to correct GPT errors"
{Problem 4}: Waking after sleep results in 'nothing'. Hard reset is necessary to reboot again every time sleep is enabled.
{Problem 5}: After countless failed attempts of {Problem 3}, SteamOS did boot into Game Mode. I now had about 8 seconds before it would do a forced reboot {kernel panic?}.
{Problem 6}: Which BlueTooth-adapters are compatible?
Expected: A compatibility list of known-to-work BT-adapters
Result: Nothing
Steps for reproducing this issue:
{Problem 1}: Bluetooth does not work;
After successful install, going into Desktop Mode > Settings > Bluetooth : "No Bluetooth adapters found"
Changed the settings in the BIOS from Bluetooth = 'auto' to Bluetooth = (forced) 'Enabled'
Result: Slow booting times (5-10 minutes) No change in bluetooth options
Changed the settings in the BIOS from Bluetooth = 'Enabled' to Bluetooth = (forced) 'Disabled'
Result: Fast booting times (1-3 minutes) No change in bluetooth options (obviously)
I figured (can not confirm) the installation skipped the bluetooth driver (setup or recognition).
{Problem 2}: And so I wanted to reinstall everything with the forced 'Enabled' settings, hoping it will get installation of SteamOS to recognise the (onboard) BT adapter.
Expected : a smooth installation (hope for BT recognition)
Result : Errors, the {same} USB loader will not boot. "Alternate GPT header not at the end of disk. GPT: 15124999 != 245759999. GPT: Use GNU Parted to correct GPT errors"
In short: The same (known working) bootable USB SteamOS-installation adapter does not want to start the recovery setup.
Re-prepping the first USB-stick (128Gb, up to 4 times) did NOT change the behaviour -> No SteamOS recovery ever got passed this error.
{Problem 3}: Preparing -another- USB stick (16Gb, up to 6 times) and loading it got further then the GPT error. It showed another error (sorry I did not noted it.. And it suddenly did a hard reset) And it never got to the installer/ recovery.
Reloading the 2nd USB drive resulted again in the error " GPT: Use GNU Parted to correct GPT errors"
{ It seems as if the internal M.2 gets mixed up with the USB during the USB loading AND that it writes 'something' on the USB that makes it unable to continue.. unless you prepare (yet) another USB stick (?) } I'm not sure what is going on, but it's unlikely the fault of both USB-storage-devices..
{Problem 4}: Waking after sleep results in 'nothing'. Hard reset is necessary to reboot again every time sleep is enabled * at least from Desktop Mode - But I have no reason to believe it does work in Game Mode
{Problem 5}: After the second USB's countless failed attempts, SteamOS did boot into Game Mode. I now had about 8 seconds before it would do a forced reboot {kernel panic?}. Clicking on "reboot into Dekstop Mode" or clicking on "Store" resulted in the same reboot {Kernel Panic?}.
- It seems as if the USB-recovery writes 'something' to my main M.2 disk .. ?
So after 4 tries, before {kernel} shutdown I clicked on Settings > System > Download Beta
It finally got to installing the Beta version (not Alpha) and now (slowly) reboots 'fine' into SteamOS - although obviously still without BT-support and without (as far as I know it) without any method to boot into the SteamOS (USB) recovery.
{Problem 6}: I am 'fine' with buying an extra BT-adapter (if that's the only way to get the system functional)
Expected: A compatibility list of known-to-work BT-adapters
Result: Nothing
I can not buy every brand to test this myself, every cent I pay extra is one I did not account for. Also trying to troubleshoot drains all joy and energy. Please have a PC-build dedicated SteamOS compatibility list available for us.
