Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

The Steam overlay is broken for native Linux games running inside SLR sniper on a Wayland session, after today's update, gameoverlayui seemingly never connects. The screen briefly greys out twice during game launch (when the "press Shift+Tab" notification would appear), then the overlay process dies.

Starting the game with the launch option SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 %command% resolves this and the overlay works normally. Proton games are unaffected due to XWayland.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run a Wayland session (KDE Plasma in my case)
  2. Launch a native Linux game (eg. Team Fortress 2)
  3. Shift+tab no longer does anything
