Resolves all issues mentioned in #171, plus some extras that were quick to knock off.
This PR aims to dramatically reduce the number of tickets in the repo with a bold data persistence change that will require a large refactor downstream to parse the data. Ideally, this refactor will make future versions of the parser more robust.
