ngPost+ 5.1.2

Windows x64 release with improvements to themes, large posting batches and session controls. The installer and portable ZIP contain the same application. The app and installer are unsigned.

Improvements

• Choose a theme colour in Preferences: the entire light or dark interface follows it, including dialogs. The choice persists after restart.
• Start all sessions queues ready sessions in tab order, with one upload job running at a time.
• Copy the NZB filename, archive name and session password using the buttons under Show advanced, including after posting.
• Large folder scans and session generation show progress, support cancellation and keep the interface responsive.
• Help now includes these improvements and fixes in English and Dutch.
• Clear upload responsibility notice, original author credits, bundled component licenses and corresponding source downloads.

Fixes

• Reduced freezes during folder processing, between queued jobs and while stopping uploads or compression tools.
• Prevented duplicate sessions and repeated queueing; retained the correct session passwords and completed NZB data.
• Added non-blocking NZB conflict handling: skip, overwrite, unique name or cancel, with apply-to-all support.
• Installer defaults to English and also offers Dutch. Upgrades retain the previous language, installation folder, portable mode and configuration.

Install or update

• Installer: close ngPost+ and run ngPost-setup-v5.1.2-UNSIGNED.exe. Installing for the same Windows user in the existing installation folder updates the previous version. No automatic background updater is included.
• Portable: extract all of ngPost-portable-v5.1.2-UNSIGNED.zip. When updating an existing portable folder, close the app and retain your ngPost.conf; the download contains no personal configuration. If Windows reports missing VCRUNTIME/MSVCP DLLs, install the included Microsoft redistributable.
• Windows may warn about the unsigned app/installer. SHA-256 checksums are listed below.
• RAR is a separate licensed tool. Bundling does not grant an unlimited RAR usage license; see notices/RAR-EULA-en.html for its trial and licensing terms.

Nederlands

De hele UI kleurt mee met je gekozen themakleur. Alle sessies starten verwerkt voorbereide sessies op volgorde; Kopieer staat naast de metadata onder Geavanceerd tonen. Grote mapbatches blijven beter reageren en zijn te annuleren. Vastlopers, dubbele sessies, wachtwoord-/NZB-gegevens en installer-upgrades zijn verbeterd. Sluit de app vóór bijwerken. Gebruik de installer bij een bestaande installatie; pak bij portable gebruik de hele ZIP uit en behoud ngPost.conf. App en installer zijn niet digitaal ondertekend. Upload alleen materiaal waarvoor je verspreidingsrechten hebt.

Validation and source

Release build, Dutch/English Help and theme smoke checks, local NNTP queue tests, folder batches up to 500 entries, and isolated installer/portable upgrade checks. Real-provider posting and a clean Windows machine were not part of these automated checks.

Source code and licenses

Exact corresponding sources: ngPost+ 5.1.2, Qt Base 6.8.3, Qt SVG 6.8.3, and par2cmdline-turbo 1.3.0 with embedded ParPar. These links replace the two combined source packages mentioned in the bundled notices. The ngPost release tag preserves the original documentation and scripts. Component license texts remain included in the installer and portable.

NgPost + v5.1.1 Qt 6 release

Deze release bevat alleen de nieuwe wijzigingen sinds v5.1.0.
Alle vernieuwingen uit v5.1.0 blijven gewoon behouden. Zie main.

Nieuw in v5.1.1

• Geavanceerd tonen blijft nu per scherm bewaard. Als een gebruiker dit opent in Snel posten of Automatisch posten, blijft dat na opslaan en herstart zo staan tot de gebruiker het zelf weer sluit.
• De optie archief wachtwoord voor deze post in Snel posten heeft nu een eigen bewaarde aan/uit-keuze. Staat die uit, dan blijft die ook uit na Config opslaan en na een herstart.
• Het vaste archiefwachtwoord in Voorkeuren staat standaard uit. Pas als een gebruiker het zelf invult en aanvinkt, blijft het actief tot het weer wordt uitgezet.
• De terminologie rond wachtwoorden is duidelijker gemaakt. De app onderscheidt nu beter tussen een vast standaard wachtwoord en een wachtwoord voor een specifieke post.
• Een bug met Usenet-provider gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord is opgelost: waarden die met een 0 beginnen blijven nu correct bewaard en geladen.
• Voorkeuren die gebruikers aan- of uitvinken worden nu betrouwbaarder opgeslagen in de config, ook bij meerdere gerelateerde opties.
• De schaalfunctie is verder verbeterd. Vooral op 123% en 150% schalen knoppen en layout nu consistenter mee.
• De knop Geavanceerd tonen/verbergen blijft nu ook op hogere schaalniveaus goed leesbaar.
• De Snel posten en Automatisch posten werkruimte is verder opgeschoond, met een rustiger geavanceerd blok onder de hoofdactie.
• par2.exe wordt nu meegeleverd in de Qt 6 distributie, en de koppeling tussen maak par2 en de %-instelling in de GUI werkt beter.
• De Qt 6 buildscript doet nu een schone rebuild voor versie- en resourcewijzigingen, zodat nieuwe versienummers en icoonupdates altijd correct in de exe terechtkomen.

Vernieuwingen t.o.v. originele ngPost (mbruel/ngPost) in v5.1.0 baseline

Deze punten zijn toegevoegd of aangepast in ngPost+ t.o.v. upstream (v4.16) en vormen de basis van v5.1.0:

Toevoegingen:

• Donker/licht schakelaar in de GUI.
• Thema‑kleurkiezer met reset‑knop.
• Thema‑kleur wordt opgeslagen in ngPost.conf (THEME_COLOR) en herstelt bij start.
• Inno Setup installer met Nederlandse voorwaarden/waarschuwing.
• Automatische installatie van vc_redist.x64.exe als die ontbreekt.
• Startmenu‑snelkoppeling + optionele desktop‑icoon.
• SHA256 checksum bestand voor de installer.

Wijzigingen:

• Upgrade toolchain naar Qt 5.15.2.
• GUI draait zonder zichtbare console (Windows subsystem).
• About‑tekst opgeschoond en aangepast.
• Taalondersteuning beperkt tot EN/DE/NL (NL standaard).

Verwijderd:

• Donatieknop en Bitcoin‑knoppen inclusief achterliggende code en assets.

Opmerking:

• Upstream heeft geen v5.1.0; deze baseline hoort bij ngPost+.

Opmerking

Deze v5.1.1 release is een verfijningsupdate op de Qt 6 editie.
De focus ligt op stabielere configuratie-opslag, duidelijker wachtwoordgedrag, betere schaalbaarheid en een nettere dagelijkse workflow.
