Concrete scenarios Voxis Live is built for, and which mode/setting fits each.

Watching a foreign-language stream or video

You've got a stream, YouTube video, or local file playing in a language you don't speak.

• Mode: Video / Game.
• Voxis ducks the original and speaks the translation over it; you can also keep the on-screen captions and export a bilingual transcript afterward if you want to review it later.
• Works regardless of the player — browser, desktop app, or a local video file being played back by any media app, since capture happens at the system-audio level.

Playing a game with no translation for your language

A game's voice acting or dialogue isn't localized into your language.

• Mode: Video / Game.
• Because capture excludes the app's own output, Voxis doesn't re-translate its own translated speech, so it can run continuously through a long session without feedback issues.
• The Fast or Callout quality preset suits fast-moving dialogue better than the default balanced preset.

Joining an international call or meeting

You're on a call with someone who doesn't share your language.

• Mode: Meeting.
• You hear them translated into your language through your headphones automatically.
• To have your voice translated for them, install a virtual microphone (VB-CABLE) and select it as your mic in the meeting app; without it, Meeting mode still works one-way (listen-only).
• Turn on "Listen to my translation" in settings if you want to hear back what the other side is actually receiving.

Passive language exposure / practice

You want to follow content in a language you're learning, with the option to check yourself against the original.

• Mode: Video / Game, with bilingual captions and bilingual transcript export enabled.
• The bilingual TXT/SRT/VTT export puts source and translation side by side, useful for reviewing afterward rather than only in the moment.

Reviewing what was said later

You translated a session live but need the record afterward — for notes, subtitles, or dubbing prep.

• Every session is saved automatically and searchable in the in-app History panel.
• Export as TXT, SRT, or VTT, bilingual or translation-only, per session.
