User Instruction
This page is an instruction about how to use our system.
You need to have a HoloLens in the first place :). We assume our target users are already familiar with the basic interactions(gestures, gaze) with HoloLens. If you are not, please check these out!
When you get used to using HoloLens, you can open our app in start menu.
Please wait for it to load the first time you use it. It won't take long. Once the loading is finished, you'll see a main menu with 2 buttons in front of you: Zoom and Subtitle
Click 'Zoom' button on main menu, you will see a square frame with some text prompt. Now you can use both hands to resize the frame.
Move your head to locate the curser on anything you would like to magnify, then click on the frame to take a picture. You can use both hands to zoom in and zoom out. You can also drag the image window to somewhere else you like and it will keep facing you, which is convenient for use cases like taking notes.
If you want to retake a picture, click 'Retry' button, and you can do the above again; if you want to quit, click 'Menu' button.
Click 'Subtitle' button on main menu, you will see a semi-transparent text box in front of you, around which you can also see some text prompts about Subtitle. When you talk to another person, the system will transcribe what you say into text and display it in the box. You can use the slider to adjust the font size.
Similarly, if you want to quit, click 'Menu' button.
For Zoom:
- Zoom team please add something here For Subtitle:
- Our system currently supports 1-on-1 conversation ONLY. The performance is not guaranteed in conversation scenarios other than that.
- Please avoid two people speaking simultaneously, which may cause confusion. We may support that functionalities in our further releases.
