I've been using Gremlin 9 in Elite Dangerous with VJoy for years, and everything has been working fine. Now I have a new system, but neither Gremlin 9 nor 13.X works with the various VJoy versions anymore. I’m forced to switch to 14.3, but that doesn’t work either. I’ve already spent days trying to get it to work, and I’m starting to get pretty frustrated. Why change a system that was working fine, and why isn’t anything compatible across versions? I used to run Windows 10, now I’m on Windows 11, and it still doesn’t work. Even with the help of the KI, I can’t get it to work. The AI tells me it’s possible to create simple macros without vjoy. I have two VBK joysticks and just want to set up simple macro management on the right joystick for the PIPs in Elite Dangerous. That’s all. And it’s not working. 1. I've tried combining VJoy with all available versions and all older versions of Gremlin. No luck. Then I tried Gremlin 14.3 with VJoy 2.1.9.1 because that seems to be the most stable version. Still no luck. Now I'm trying Gremlin without VJoy. That doesn't work either—the program stops immediately after entering a macro in the game, even though it's active. Even long delay times don't make a difference. What else can I do?

While I can understand that things not working is frustrating, it doesn't really help as that doesn't provide any of the information that would help to figure out what is going wrong.

1. Gremlin version: No one forces you to use a particular version. R13 still works with the bugs it has, and R14 works but does have some other quirks as it's being developed.
2. If you don't have a working vJoy version, nothing you do in R13 will matter since it requires vJoy. R14 does not require it, IF you do not use map to vjoy actions.
3. vJoy can be painful and the two variants that are known to work with R14 are these two https://github.com/jshafer817/vJoy/releases/tag/v2.1.9.1 and https://github.com/BrunnerInnovation/vJoy/releases/tag/v2.2.2.0 Other version may work but there are versions known to cause problems
4. Without knowing what you actually tried in either R13 or R14 no one will be able to tell you why it didn't work or whether it should have worked
5. The discord server is usually a good place to get more reactive help as other people there, that also have seen their fair share of vjoy issues, help
6. If all you need is to trigger some keyboard keys when pressing a joystick button you may have an easier time with something like joy2key https://joytokey.net/en/ which does that and only that, as opposed to Gremlin which has a significantly broader scope
