Move pages across sites

The page tree is really amazing now with the latest features released (TOC, delete whole tree, localization etc)

One of our remaining pain points compared to Confluence is the move of pages between sites. We are pretty much locked in how we organized our sites across the company. As the teams change or expand, reviewing the structure of the documentation is often really important.

Do you know if moving pages across could be possible through the page tree?

Best case scenario:

• User selects a page and its children to move
• User selects a target site
• User selects under what page or at the root
• Pages are moved
  • Page assets also - this might be hard :|
• User could be redirected to the target site

There's a way to move pages with Power Automate but it's really not user friendly!

@synhoub Thank you! And I'd love to have this feature as well and I've been waiting for Microsoft to add it some day. I still expect this to land natively at some point, as this is kind of a core feature in my view. So far they did not deliver.

Page assets are exactly what this makes it complicated. Also page links from the page and to the page. Also checkouts, locks, workflows, metadata differences, web parts (quicklinks, file preview, ...). And what about versions?

I could imagine a first version that tackles the easy case:

• same metadata structure on source and target Site Pages library
• attachments are moved
• versions are lost; maybe the attachments could be moved with versions intact, not sure
• links might be broken

What would be the minimum that makes sense in your environment?

Your easy case version would be good enough for us. Maybe, just give a warning to the user about losing versions and breaking links before they proceed!
