I am often running three way comparisons and recently i downloaded the trial of beyond compare, and realized, that you can show these things much more effectively in winmerge.
Have a white and a light grey background colour for the rows, alternating each other every other line, and have the source on the left, and the two to be compared drives on the middle and the right, and instead of saying 'Does not exist in I:\ (Left and Right Identical)', just show a coloured icon, with the colour indicating if its not there, different, or same.
Concept art, artists rendition PLS NO STAEL /s:

The core idea is to just have a column under each drive that shows with a coloured logo if its there or different or missing. my gripes with the current view is that it shows the comparison result not under the thick columns of the drives, but in a separate column, meaning if i want to see what the H drive has, i have to move my eyes away from the H drive's own space, which is the wide column of area under it.
My second gripe is that i have to read specifically worded text to decipher what's different, and i cant just easily glance at it and tell that this folder is different, this is missing, these are all the same, etc.
Im not even suggesting this as a default view, just as an 'ALT view' you can turn on in the settings, or something. An optional view for people like me. Overall, the UI of winmerge looks great but these two gripes are minor annoyances.
