Guide for customers paying with Bitcoin Lightning via CLINK.

What is Lightning?

Bitcoin Lightning is a payment layer built on top of Bitcoin that enables:

  • ⚡ Instant payments - Settled in seconds
  • 💰 Low fees - Fractions of a cent
  • 🔄 Micropayments - Pay any amount

You can pay with Lightning using any compatible wallet.

How to Pay

Step 1: Select Lightning at Checkout

  1. Add items to your cart
  2. Proceed to checkout
  3. Select "Lightning (CLINK)" as payment method
  4. Place your order

Step 2: Scan QR Code

You'll see a QR code and invoice string:

Step 3: Pay with Your Wallet

Option A: Scan QR Code

  1. Open your Lightning wallet
  2. Tap "Scan" or camera icon
  3. Point at the QR code
  4. Confirm payment

Option B: Copy Invoice

  1. Tap "Copy Invoice" button
  2. Open your Lightning wallet
  3. Paste the invoice
  4. Confirm payment

Step 4: Payment Confirmed!

Your order will be confirmed automatically within seconds.

Setting Up Auto-Renewal

For subscriptions, you can enable automatic payments.

What You Need

An ndebit1... string from your Lightning wallet.

How to Get It

From ShockWallet:

  1. Open ShockWallet
  2. Go to Settings → nDebit
  3. Copy your ndebit1... string

From ZEUS:

  1. Open ZEUS
  2. Go to Settings → CLINK → nDebit
  3. Copy your ndebit1... string

How to Enable

  1. After your first subscription payment, you'll see "Setup Auto-Renewal"
  2. Paste your ndebit1... string
  3. Click "Enable Auto-Renewal"

What Happens Next

  • Future payments process automatically
  • No QR scanning needed
  • You can disable anytime from your account

Refunds

Lightning refunds require manual processing.

How to Request a Refund

  1. Contact the merchant via:

    • Email (shown on order confirmation)
    • Nostr DM (if provided)

  2. Provide your:

    • Order number
    • Lightning invoice for the refund amount

  3. The merchant will process your refund

Refund Timeline

  • Typically processed within 24-48 hours
  • You'll receive sats to your Lightning wallet

FAQ

Is it safe?

Yes! You're paying directly to the merchant's Lightning node. No third party holds your funds.

What if I don't pay?

The invoice expires after 10 minutes (default). You can create a new order.

Can I pay with regular Bitcoin?

No, this uses Lightning Network for instant payments. Use a Lightning-compatible wallet.

What if payment fails?

  1. Check your wallet has sufficient balance
  2. Ensure you're connected to the internet
  3. Try copying the invoice instead of scanning
  4. Contact support if issues persist

Where are my sats going?

Directly to the merchant's Lightning node. This is a peer-to-peer payment.

Do I need a Nostr account?

No! Your wallet handles the CLINK protocol automatically. You don't need to understand Nostr.

What's the maximum amount?

Depends on:

  • Your wallet's channel capacity
  • The merchant's node liquidity
  • Typically up to a few million sats

What's a sat?

A "satoshi" (sat) is the smallest unit of Bitcoin:

  • 1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 sats
  • 1,000 sats ≈ $0.50 (varies)
